The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Names, contact details and related information (e.g. related church information, dietary information)
  • Financial information relating to donations and subscriptions

 

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you as someone who has attended or has booked to attend an event run by Reformation Today (for example, the Carey Ministers’ Conference), or as a subscriber to Reformation Today magazine.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources:

– church websites and websites of other Christian organisations

– personal contacts.

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

– organise, administer and market the Carey Ministers’ Conference and other events run by Reformation Today

– plan, produce, distribute and market Reformation Today magazine and other publications of Reformation Today

– process gifts, subscriptions and other financial transactions related to our activities.

We may share this information with:

– distributors of our publications and literature

– conference venues and organisers of events that we run

– banks and financial institutions involved in processing and looking after our finances.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) your consent: you are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Stephen Dunning (contact details above).

(b) where we have a contractual obligation (e.g. in connection with the booking of venues for events).

(c) where we have a legal obligation to do so.

(f) where we have a legitimate interest (in order effectively to arrange, organise, put on and run events, distribute literature and make these known, process finances and otherwise fulfil our objects).

 

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

We keep personal identifiers and contact information for five years after the most recent Reformation Today event that you attended. We keep financial information only for so long as reasonably needed to process subscriptions, donations or other payments from you. After that, we dispose your information by deleting it from our systems.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
