Reformation Today is delighted to announce a new venture, ‘Anchored’ – for the in-depth study of Baptist theology and history. Anchored will launch, God willing, with a day conference on the doctrine of Scripture on Tuesday 24th September 2024 – details below.

Anchored is open to all, especially those interested or involved in Reformed Baptist churches across the UK. It aims to bring the Reformed Baptist community together for a careful investigation of our shared theological heritage. We will deepen our understanding of that heritage by studying it exegetically, systematically, and historically, and then apply these truths to our churches today.

Our first study day will be held at Grace Church, Guildford on Tuesday 24th September 2024, 10am – 3:30pm. It will focus on the doctrine of Scripture. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion and time to enjoy informal fellowship. The programme is as follows:

SESSION 1 Chapter 1 of the 1689 Confession: Delighting in God’s Word – Jeremy Walker, Maidenbower Baptist Church

SESSION 2 Contemporary Challenges to the Doctrine: Interpreting God’s Word – Jeremy Walker

SESSION 3 Baptists and Sola Scriptura: Bible, History and Tradition – Robert Strivens, Bradford-on-Avon Baptist Church

SESSION 4 His Blood is Bibline: Scripture in the Life and Ministry of John Bunyan – Alex Arrell, Grace Church Guildford

Lunch will be provided and is included in the £10 charge for the day. The booking form is below.

Grace Church, Guildford is at Chertsey Street, Guildford GU1 4HL. If you are coming by car, please use the large multi-storey car park off York Road, which has 605 spaces. The pedestrian exit on level 9 comes out at the rear entrance of GCG. Please note, parking charges apply at all times.
